If you are a small or medium-sized business operating in Albania with a physical store in the hospitality, bar, restaurant, market, or taxi sectors, and have not previously used a POS device, we invite you to apply for the POSI program at BKT starting from the 1st of May. Benefit from a free POS terminal for a 12-month period, with zero commission on all card transactions up to a predetermined annual amount based on the sector you operate in:
- Market: Up to €19,000 per year.
- Hotel: Up to €24,000 per year.
- Bar & Restaurant: Up to €15,000 per year.
- Taxi: Up to €2,000 per year.
Program Admission Criteria
Small and Medium Enterprises: Including sole proprietors and limited liability companies operating in the following sectors: hospitality, markets, restaurants & bars, or taxis.
New-to-POS Businesses: The program is dedicated to businesses that have not previously had a contract or POS device with any bank in the market. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses that want to start accepting card payments.
Businesses with Physical Stores: The program is open to all businesses with a physical store in Albania.
Important Details
Businesses can leave the program at any time without penalties. This gives them the freedom to decide whether to continue with the program based on the benefits they receive.
The program will start on May 1st, 2025 and will continue until 4,750 new POS terminals are distributed or until April 30th, 2026 whichever condition is met first.
Once the maximum annual transaction volume specified for each sector is reached, the pre-determined fees in the contract will begin to apply.
